Corrections

How to challenge a statement and how we record a material change.

Submit a precise request

Identify the article, quotation or paragraph, proposed correction, and an authoritative source. Explain why the source supports the change. Do not send identity documents, private correspondence, unpublished burial lists, account credentials, medical details, or original archival objects.

Review

We compare the request with the article’s existing source base and, when needed, seek a second record or institutional explanation. A repeated assertion without provenance is not enough. We may leave a claim unresolved when evidence remains genuinely mixed.

Correction notes

A material factual correction receives a dated note explaining what changed. Clarifying language may be added without erasing the earlier uncertainty. Typography and broken-link repairs do not receive artificial publication dates.
